UCP WORK, Inc.

WORK, Inc. joined the UCP family in July of 2001 and it has turned out to be a wonderful match. 
UCP WORK, Inc. offers employment opportunities and residential services throughout Santa Barbara County and serves over 400 residents with significant disabilities. 

 

Services Offered:
Vocational Training

UCP WORK, Inc. provides subcontracting work to local business and industry. The jobs offered provide hands-on experience so that individuals may develop skills necessary for future successful employment.

 
Supported Employment

Offered in both a group and individual placement format. All group employment is performed under the supervision of a job coach. Individual placements also receive coaching in order to learn the duties of the job and receive continued support at the worksite. Also provided are classes in interviewing, resume writing, basic job skills and community resources for job searches.

Our Employment Services Program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and we contract with the State of California Department of Rehabilitation to provide employment services to people with disabilities.

We are delighted to be able to collaborate with some outstanding and community minded employers such as: City and County of Santa Barbara, City of Santa Barbara Waterfront Department, Santa Barbara Downtown Organization, Ralph's, Friendship Center, PEDUS, Metropolitan Theaters, Petco, Eye of the Day, Albertsons, Vons, Smart and Final, Jeannine's Bakery and Casa Dorinda. Community Homes

UCP WORK, Inc. operates 4 homes in Santa Barbara County which are licensed through the California Department of Social Services. The homes provide residents the opportunity to live in the community while receiving instruction in living skills from trained staff.

 
Supported Living

This program offers people the opportunity to live in the community in their own homes. UCP WORK, Inc. assists clients in locating homes and selecting roommates, if needed.  We also provide training in self-care, exercise and wellness, safety, mobility and other areas as needed or requested by the individual.
