Independent Living Skills Training and Supported Living Services (CLS)
Community Living Services (CLS) provides individuals with disabilities with individualized training and support necessary for the individual to live in their own home. The Community Living Services Program is guided by the philosophy that people with developmental disabilities have the right, the desire, and the ability to make choices about their present and future lifestyle and living arrangement. They have the right and responsibility to participate, to the fullest level of their ability, in decision-making that directly affects their lives. Fulfillment of this philosophy demands that the training and support services provided are individualized, person-centered, and uphold the individual's right to self-determination.
UCPLA provides two types of services for individuals choosing to live in their own homes. Individuals receive training and support in their own home and community in the environment where daily activities would naturally occur. Independent Living Skills Training is designed to assist individuals with acquiring particular skills in specific areas of daily life. Supported Living Services provides training and support for individuals who require ongoing support in order to maintain their preferred lifestyle.
