The UCPLA Parent Support and Advocacy Group will meet one Thursday evening a month from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. to network, provide information and support for one another and to advocate for the needs of their children. A UCPLA staff member facilitates the meetings and invite speakers to address a variety of topics requested by participants. | UCPLA/K.E.N. Project (Kids with Exceptional Needs) |
The UCPLA/K.E.N. Project is a non-profit parent training and advocacy organization providing workshops training programs and conferences for parents of children with any type of disability. There are two meetings per month that are free and open to parents and professionals who work with children with special needs. During these meetings, parents are provided the opportunity to present issues they are currently experiencing. An Advocate and an Attorney respond with suggestions, referrals and ideas for solving the problems. Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at UCPLA's Administrative Office. A list of the meetings for fall 2008 are posted below. Spanish language translation is available a week before the scheduled meeting.
